B-EN-G Group's Materiality (Enlarge)

Materiality Identification Process

We selected key social issues for our group's business activities, taking into account international guidelines and prioritizing their importance to society and stakeholders. We consider the connection between materiality and higher-level concepts (corporate philosophy and purpose) as an indicator for evaluating its importance to our group. We will periodically review our materiality and focus our efforts on achieving our purpose.

STEP1
Formation of a "Materiality Formulation Review Team"

To comprehensively review all aspects of the B-EN-G Group's business, a cross-departmental team was formed, comprised of members selected from business and administrative departments.

STEP2
Identifying sustainability challenges

Using methods such as value chain mapping, we identified key business challenges and created a long list.

STEP3
Identifying and organizing issues, and assessing their importance.

After classifying and organizing the identified issues, external indicators were used to evaluate their relevance to the business and their social importance.

STEP4
Discussions at the Sustainability Committee

The committee discussed the content and importance assessment of the issues.

STEP5
Approval by the Board of Directors

Disclosure to external parties will be made after approval by the Board of Directors.

Materiality Importance Assessment

The issues identified as material for the B-EN-G Group are those that are considered most important to both stakeholders and the B-EN-G Group, out of the many challenges facing society.
We evaluated and mapped the wide range of sustainability issues identified in a specific process using two axes: "importance to society and stakeholders" and "importance to the B-EN-G Group." The group of issues located in the upper right of this diagram (the area of the blue circle), which are of extremely high importance to both parties, have been identified as our priority material issues.
