Hello! This is Chida from PT. Business Engineering Indonesia (hereinafter referred to as BID). This is BID's first appearance on INSIDE-B, and we hope to use this opportunity to gradually share what's happening on the ground.
BID provides ERP implementation support, primarily using mcframe, in Indonesia, operating from two locations: Jakarta and an industrial park area. This time, we will introduce BID's corporate branding activities, including the journey of how BID members created their own brand statement.
How can we become more aware of our own brand?
B-EN-G has a brand statement that reads, "Staying close to you into the future" (English translation: "Business Engineering for Growth"). I personally deeply resonate with this statement. However, I faced the challenge of not being able to fully convey the message to our Indonesian team members when using the same words. This was due not only to language differences, but also to the fact that they had fewer opportunities to consciously think about the brand in their daily work.
Therefore, we decided to create BID 's original brand statement ourselves.
All members work together to uncover what makes BID unique.
The workshop was held over two days with support from B-EN-G 's corporate branding team, who came from Japan. Since BID has two locations, in Jakarta and Cikarang, the first day was a joint session, and on the second day, the participants split up to discuss at their respective locations. The members frankly exchanged opinions on topics such as "What are BID 's strengths?" and "What kind of value do we provide to our customers?"
Even among the team members I work with regularly, there were many comments that made me think, "I never imagined they'd seen BID from that perspective," which I found very refreshing. Summarizing it into short phrases was more difficult than I expected; trying to make it sound impressive made it too abstract, while being too specific made it difficult to convey the company's scope. After many discussions, BID 's brand statement was finally born.
"Always be there for us. There is always a solution."
"Selalu Mendampingi (Always Standing by)" embodies BID 's unwavering commitment to addressing customer challenges as an ERP consultant. "Pasti Ada Solusi (There Is Always a Solution)" expresses the team's determination to continue finding answers no matter the situation. To be honest, at first I was worried about whether we could really come up with words that everyone could agree on, but as we continued our discussions, the direction gradually became clearer. Rather than simply creating pretty words, I believe the great significance lies in the fact that these are words that the members of BID thought about and chose themselves.
After the brand statement was finalized, we asked the team members to consider how to visualize it. We held an internal design competition, selecting five finalists from nine applicants in the first round. Each member presented their design concept, and the winning design was decided by employee vote. Making it possible for everyone to participate in the selection process generated a lot of excitement. We also prepared a cash prize for the winner, which may have helped to ignite enthusiasm in a positive way.
The winning team's proposed design concept was "from complexity to clarity." It uses geometric graphics to represent the complexity of business processes faced by companies, while simultaneously guiding the viewer's eye to simple yet powerful typography. We believe that the four elements—complexity, transition, clarity, and growth—embody the value that BID provides to its customers.
We will spread the statement we created both inside and outside the company.
The chosen design will be incorporated into BID 's daily life in various forms, including office walls, internal documents, and promotional goods. Words are born, take shape, and spread into space. BID 's branding journey is just beginning. We would appreciate your continued warm support.
