Launch of "BatchLine Lite MES"

Business Engineering Corporation

Business Engineering Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masakazu Haneda; hereinafter "B-EN-G") is pleased to announce that it has begun offering "BatchLine Lite MES (hereinafter "BatchLine")," a new pharmaceutical manufacturing record digitization tool from BatchLine Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Thailand; CEO: David Margetts), from March 2025. By providing BatchLine, B-EN-G, which has knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, will contribute to the digitization of manufacturing records in the industry. This will also help strengthen GMP compliance and improve the efficiency of manufacturing sites.

■Background
In the pharmaceutical industry, issues that arise from traditional paper-based manufacturing records include transcription errors, review burdens, risk of record loss, and the burden of responding to audits. The right approach to solving these problems is to introduce a manufacturing execution system (MES) and digitize manufacturing records, but some companies have been unable to implement MES due to the implementation costs and operational issues.
B-EN-G had also received feedback from customers in the same industry that "computerization of manufacturing records is necessary, but the introduction of MES is a high hurdle in terms of the investment scale and securing of specialized personnel." In light of this, BatchLine Lite MES, which places emphasis on the completeness of manufacturing records and compliance with regulations, is low-cost and has a proven track record overseas, and was determined to be the optimal solution to resolve these issues, and decided to begin offering it in Japan.

■About BatchLine
BatchLine is a cloud solution for the pharmaceutical industry that realizes electronic manufacturing records. As it is provided as a SaaS, it can be quickly implemented and meets the needs for immediate electronicization.
By introducing BatchLine, you can minimize the burden of paperwork required for data integrity and GxP compliance, and achieve the following digitalization:

  • Visualization of manufacturing process

  • Sharing production progress in real time via dashboard

  • Strengthening data integrity by connecting to weighing scales, etc.

  • Utilizing data to improve quality control and business efficiency

B-EN-G is well-versed in the laws and regulations of Japan, the United States and Europe, and has been providing IT solutions specialized for the pharmaceutical industry for many years. By combining our knowledge with BatchLine, we can expect many synergistic effects, such as integration with existing systems, validation in compliance with laws and regulations, and standardization with an eye toward global expansion. With this deployment of BatchLine, we will provide a new option for formulation and packaging processes, where MES has been difficult to implement until now, accelerating the digital transformation of our pharmaceutical manufacturing customers and supporting the realization of high-quality pharmaceutical manufacturing with excellent operational efficiency.

■Comment from BatchLine
"We welcome this partnership with B-EN-G. We are confident that the combination of our product capabilities with the extensive knowledge and experience that B-EN-G has cultivated in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry will contribute to digitalization, operational efficiency, and compliance in Japan's pharmaceutical manufacturing industry."
