It can be integrated into existing ERP systems and supports everything from reading supporting documents to journal entries and data linkage.

Business Engineering Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masakazu Haneda; hereinafter "B-EN-G") announced today that it will begin offering "GLASIAOUS OCR," an AI-OCR that supports everything from reading supporting documents to data integration into core systems, from the end of September 2026.
This service reduces the time required for manual invoice entry by one-third through highly accurate AI-powered reading and generation of journal entry candidates. Furthermore, under security management based on international security standards (ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, and 27018), it supports the reduction of the burden of document processing in accounting and purchasing departments through integration with various companies' ERP systems.

■ Background and challenges of development

  • Reliance on manual data entry and person-dependent processing
The manual data entry burden for irregularly formatted purchase documents (order forms, invoices, receipts, etc.) is significant, and setting account and tax classifications depends on the experience of the person in charge. In particular, at overseas locations, the low retention rate of personnel leads to inconsistencies in bookkeeping rules with each change in personnel.
  • Barriers to standardization due to differences in systems
Because tax systems and business practices differ from country to country, implementing common tools is difficult. Individual implementations at each location increase costs, and centralized management at headquarters becomes challenging.
  • Missing supporting documents in the tax pre-process
In overseas branches with earlier filing deadlines, it's common practice to file tax returns before accounting data is finalized. As a result, supporting documents are processed first using tax calculation sheets, and may be missed by the data entry functions built into the accounting system.

■Product Features and Effects

Features Content Effects
Multilingual and local tax support It supports automatic setting of tax classifications and tax rates (VAT/WHT, etc.) for each country, conversion from the Buddhist calendar, and foreign currency conversion. AI generates journal entry candidates, which are then reviewed and confirmed by the person in charge. Recognition accuracy

ERP/core system integration Data can be supplied to SAP S/4HANA®, SAP Ariba®, and other systems via CSV/Excel or API integration. Can be implemented while utilizing existing ERP systems.
Batch processing Even when multiple invoices are converted to a single PDF, they are automatically split and accounted for on an invoice-by-invoice basis. Time spent on bookkeeping

GLASIAOUS OCR offers two pricing plans. "GLASIAOUS OCR Standard" (pay-as-you-go, starting at 40 yen/page) is available in the cloud and can be used immediately. It is provided in a multi-tenant environment and can be externally integrated into existing systems via APIs, etc. "GLASIAOUS OCR Pro" (starting at 250 yen/page) is designed for integration into ERP and core systems in a dedicated environment. It supports customization in a single-tenant environment and can be closely integrated with core systems such as SAP S/4HANA® and SAP Ariba®.

■ Anticipated Usage Scenarios

  • Accounting firm, BPO, bookkeeping services
Because the format of supporting documents differs for each customer, input errors that are likely to occur are reduced by using AI to perform preliminary processing from reading to journal entry.
  • Purchasing, procurement, and accounting departments of companies using core systems
This system automates the input of irregularly formatted purchase documents, reducing the workload involved in integrating them with core systems.
  • Companies that use different core systems at their global locations
Even if different core systems are used at each location, "GLASIAOUS OCR" can be integrated with each system, reducing the need for separate tool implementations at each location and supporting the standardization of data entry across the entire group.
