B-EN-G selected as a partner company for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Childcare Support Partner Project
Business Engineering Corporation
Business Engineering Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masakazu Haneda, hereinafter referred to as "B-EN-G") has been selected as one of four cooperating companies for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's Childcare Support Partner Project.
Tokyo is promoting the concept of 'Ikugyo' (a coined term replacing the traditional word for 'childcare leave' to emphasize that childcare is 'important work' rather than a 'leave of absence' or 'rest') and is working to foster an atmosphere in which the whole of society supports childcare by collaborating with companies and support groups.
B-EN-G agrees with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's idea and has decided to provide information to those who are considering parenting through its own childcare promotion systems and initiatives, as well as the personal stories of employees who have raised children.
■About information dissemination
B-EN-G is promoting information dissemination aimed at reducing anxiety about child-rearing and increasing understanding of child-rearing among male employees by sharing interviews and personal stories of people with child-rearing experience on its owned media INSIDE-B and on social media platforms operated by the company, such as Instagram.
■B-EN-G's work style support system
B-EN-G offers support for childbirth and childcare that goes beyond what is required by law, including paid leave during pregnancy, full payment of salary during maternity leave, and a system that allows employees to take five days of paid leave when their spouse gives birth.
In addition, we are working to foster an organizational culture in which all employees, regardless of gender, can easily take childcare leave, and we are using an internal social networking site to exchange information between employees before and after taking childcare leave, as well as to share information on systems and services related to marriage and childcare. As a result, the percentage of male employees taking childcare leave in fiscal 2024 is 90.9% (*1), and the average length of childcare leave taken is 83 days (*2), both of which are above the national average (*3).
*1. Percentage of male employees taking childcare leave = (Number of male employees who started childcare leave in fiscal 2024) ÷ (Number of male employees whose spouses gave birth in fiscal 2024) × 100 (%)
*2. Average number of days of childcare leave taken by male employees = (Total number of days taken by male employees who started childcare leave in fiscal 2024) / (Number of male employees who started childcare leave in fiscal 2024)
*3. Report on the "Survey on the Disclosure of the Rate of Men Taking Childcare Leave, etc. in FY2023" / Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare
