Business Engineering Corporation, Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masakazu Haneda, hereinafter "B-EN-G") has decided to participate in the capital of BatchLine Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bangkok, Thailand, CEO: David Margetts, hereinafter "BatchLine") on November 27, 2025. B-EN-G plans to invest the equivalent of 100 million yen in the company.
Through this capital participation, the two companies will strengthen their provision of digital manufacturing record solutions in order to advance digital transformation in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry in the global market.
■Background
In the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, there is an urgent need to digitize manufacturing records from the perspective of data integrity and GMP compliance. B-EN-G signed a partnership agreement with BatchLine in January 2025 and began providing the company's BatchLine MES in Japan in March. During proposal activities, B-EN-G has received requests from small and medium-sized pharmaceutical companies, primarily those with digital needs for MBR (Manufacturing Instructions Records) and EBR (Electronic Batch Records), as well as for solutions that fit their budgets, confirming the high marketability of the product.
Furthermore, demand for digital transformation in pharmaceutical manufacturing is rapidly expanding in the global market, necessitating strengthened expansion in Asian, European and American markets. B-EN-G has decided to make this capital investment in order to build a strategic partnership with BatchLine and enhance its competitiveness in the global market.
■ Significance of this capital participation
This capital participation will achieve the following three goals:
- Accelerating business expansion in global markets
Leveraging B-EN-G's overseas network and BatchLine's global customer base, the company will accelerate the global expansion of its pharmaceutical manufacturing record digitization solutions. - Strengthening product development and service provision systems
The two companies will effectively collaborate on their development resources to enhance product functionality and service quality. Specifically, by combining B-EN-G's pharmaceutical industry expertise with BatchLine's SaaS development technology, the two companies will provide comprehensive solutions. - Deepening strategic partnership
This strong capital partnership will enable the formulation and execution of long-term business plans. In addition, by combining this with the various solutions provided by B-EN-G, we will comprehensively support the digital transformation of the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing site.
Comment from BatchLine CEO David Margetts
"We are delighted to further deepen our relationship with B-EN-G, a company we have partnered with for many years. We deeply understand and highly value their strengths in people, solutions, and market access, and look forward to working together to realize our shared vision of a new approach to MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) in the pharmaceutical industry."
■ Future outlook
With this capital participation, both companies aim to establish themselves as global leaders in solutions for the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. By combining our expertise in the pharmaceutical manufacturing field with the combined strengths of B-EN-G and BatchLine solutions, we will contribute to the stable supply of pharmaceuticals, improved quality, strict regulatory compliance, and increased productivity.
Furthermore, B-EN-G will continue to actively pursue strategic capital alliances to support the digital transformation of its customers, primarily in the manufacturing industry, and work to enhance its corporate value.
