The GLASIAOUS Consortium, whose secretariat is Business Engineering Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masakazu Haneda, hereinafter referred to as "B-EN-G"), is pleased to announce today that One Asia Lawyers (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Bangkok, Thailand, Managing Director: Yuto Yabumoto, hereinafter referred to as "OAL"), a global law firm providing comprehensive support services to companies expanding overseas, has joined the Consortium.
OAL is a member of the One Asia Lawyers group, which has a legal services network in more than 10 countries, including Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, India, and Bangladesh, in addition to Thailand. With OAL's membership, the consortium can now provide comprehensive corporate support in the areas of legal affairs, labor, and internal control in addition to traditional tax and accounting support. Through OAL, GLASIAOUS clients can receive the same level of legal services in other countries where the group operates.

■Background
While Japanese companies are increasingly interested in expanding into Asia, their overseas subsidiaries in ASEAN and South Asian countries are facing legal issues such as foreign capital restrictions, differences in interpretation of contract law, corruption and bribery risks, and intellectual property infringement.In addition, there are a mountain of labor management issues, such as frequent revisions to labor laws, dismissal restrictions, dealing with labor unions, and difficulties in obtaining visas for expatriates, which pose major challenges to the operation of overseas subsidiaries.
The GLASIAOUS Consortium has provided support in the areas of taxation and accounting, but in response to the growing need to address a wide range of legal and labor issues, we have welcomed One Asia Lawyers group, which provides legal services throughout ASEAN and South Asia, into the consortium.
