■ Background of introduction
FreakOut's core business is the advertising sector, but the company also develops a wide range of products to promote corporate marketing activities and business both domestically and overseas, with multiple bases in the Asia-Pacific region, particularly in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Taiwan. However, each base operates a different accounting system, and the accuracy of the financial statements submitted to the head office varies, increasing the workload of monthly accounting. In addition, because the back office staff at each base is small, there is a risk that operations will be delayed when the person in charge is absent. To solve these problems, standardization of business processes was urgently needed.

■Reasons for choosing GLASIAOUS

FreakOut aimed to standardize operations by unifying accounting systems across the Asia-Pacific region, and after comparing multiple products, selected GLASIAOUS for the following reasons:

  • Unified international accounting with multilingual, multicurrency and multistandard support

  • Chat function automatically translates into multiple languages for smooth global communication

  • Feasibility of standardizing and consolidating operations based on track record in the Asian region

  • In particular, the function that automatically translates from Japanese to multiple languages was recognized as making a significant contribution to the standardization of global operations.

■Introduction effects

By introducing GLASIAOUS to 10 locations and standardizing accounting operations, the following benefits were achieved:

  • [Improved accuracy] The accuracy of financial statements from each location has improved, laying the foundation for strengthening management accounting

  • [Accelerated settlement of accounts] The monthly closing period has been shortened from approximately 10 business days to 6 business days. Achieving efficient and accelerated settlement processing

  • [Strengthening the system] Successfully eliminated dependency on individuals at small bases and established a backup system

  • [Cost reduction] Reduce outsourcing costs at small bases by consolidating operations at Malaysian base

■Customer comments
The introduction of GLASIAOUS was a major turning point in our project to standardize accounting operations in the Asia-Pacific region. We were extremely encouraged by the support of B-EN-G, who worked closely with our local staff to advance the project, from informing them of the underlying concepts behind why standardization of operations was necessary. Currently, even bases with few staff handling back-office operations no longer need to outsource to accounting firms, and we aim to further consolidate operations and achieve speedier management in the future.
