Business Engineering Corporation
Business Engineering Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Masakazu Haneda, hereinafter referred to as "B-EN-G") is pleased to announce that it has signed a sponsorship agreement with SAKURA Tempesta, a non-profit organization that manages SAKURA Tempesta, a robotics team for junior and senior high school students that has an outstanding track record in international robot competitions.
SAKURA Tempesta is a robotics team founded in Chiba Prefecture in 2017. In 2018, they were the first Japanese team to participate in the FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC), where they were awarded the Rookie Inspiration Award and the Rookie All-Star Award, both of which are given to newcomers. To date, they have qualified to compete in the FRC World Championship four times (the most of any Japanese team), and this year they won the 2nd Inspire Award at the FIRST® Tech Challenge, which they participated in for the first time, continuing their remarkable achievements.
In addition, he was involved in launching the FRC Japan Team Community, promoting interaction between junior and senior high school Robocon teams across the country and working to improve their technical skills.
In addition, we are engaged in a wide range of activities to raise interest in science and engineering fields, mainly among junior and senior high school students, such as planning and running workshops on the themes of robotics and programming, and raising awareness of "STEAM education."
■Background and thoughts behind the sponsorship agreement
B-EN-G signed the contract because they believe that Saku-La-Tenpesta's activities will contribute to nurturing the next generation of manufacturing engineers and lead to the realization of B-EN-G's purpose of "increasing the number of creative businesses in the world." Going forward, they will provide funding and technical support to Saku-La-Tenpesta, and support the Robocon team's participation in competitions and the social activities they organize.
We will continue to support activities that are highly compatible with achieving B-EN-G's purpose and contribute to the growth and development of Japanese manufacturing.
