■ About the JPX-Nikkei Mid and Small Cap Index
The JPX-Nikkei Mid and Small Cap Index is a stock price index that applies the same concept as the JPX-Nikkei 400, whose constituent stocks are "companies that are highly attractive to investors," to small and mid-cap stocks. It is composed of companies that are engaged in sustainable improvement of corporate value and management that is conscious of shareholders.
The constituent stocks are selected by screening common stocks from the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Prime, Standard, and Growth markets. The top 200 stocks are then selected based on a criteria that takes into account quantitative indicators (ROE and operating profit) as well as qualitative factors such as the appointment of independent outside directors and female executives.
