Business Engineering Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Masakazu Haneda; hereinafter "B-EN-G") is pleased to announce that Shanghai Nabtesco, a Chinese subsidiary of Nabtesco Corporation Power Control Company, which manufactures and sells hydraulic equipment (traveling and swing reduction gears) used in construction machinery, has implemented mcframe SIGNAL CHAIN, B-EN-G's IoT solution for the manufacturing industry, and has successfully improved its equipment utilization rate by visualizing the operation status of each piece of equipment in real time and quantitatively understanding the equipment operation status.

In addition, we have published an introduction example article on the following website today.
■Case introduction page URL: https://www.mcframe.com/case/nabtesco

Shanghai Nabtesco has approximately 200 machining equipment and other equipment in its three factories, and has an annual production capacity of 60,000 hydraulic reducers. In response to the recent shortage of human resources and intensifying price competition, a major challenge is to realize thorough labor savings to further improve efficiency and productivity, as well as consolidate surplus equipment and reduce production area. It became.
Therefore, we introduced B-EN-G's "mcframe SIGNAL CHAIN" to visualize the entire part processing process, eliminate waste, and improve machine utilization. From the perspective of improving machine utilization rates, we have also worked on creating multi-skilled workers, which has yielded significant results in improving production. In addition, although B-EN-G supported the initial implementation, this is the first time that our company has succeeded in horizontally deploying the system to more than 200 facilities in a short period of two months.

■Customer comments
SIGNAL CHAIN visualization has accelerated efforts to quickly build more efficiency and higher productivity than ever before. After visualizing processes and tasks that have not been visualized yet, the analysis phase is where we want to further strengthen the process. We will thoroughly identify whether there is any waste or areas that can be improved, take countermeasures, and aim to realize a smart factory.

■Issues before implementation

  • It is not possible to quantitatively understand the equipment operating rate, and you want to understand the appropriate number of equipment.
  • I want to save labor in response to the shortage of human resources.
  • I want to build a production line that can respond to production fluctuations in the Chinese market.

■Introduction effects

  • By improving the operating rate of individual processing equipment, we reduced the production area due to suspension of surplus equipment.
  • By saving labor, we were able to respond to the shortage of human resources and build a manufacturing line that is resistant to production fluctuations.
  • Improved operating rates led to a review of the classification of manufactured parts from internal and external manufacturers and improved costs.
  • Improved awareness of improvements at manufacturing sites, including local staff, and the number of submissions of improvement proposals increased by more than 10 times.

■About mcframe SIGNAL CHAIN
mcframe SIGNAL CHAIN is an IoT package that supports quick problem identification and improvement at manufacturing sites. Operation monitoring and equipment maintenance can be installed independently, but by combining the two modules, you can efficiently collect equipment operation and maintenance data, increasing the productivity and reliability of manufacturing equipment. Further expansion is also easy by using an IoT platform. Since its launch in 2016, it has been installed by about 100 companies, and about half of them are overseas.
