Last year was an uncertain one, with the effects of COVID-19 lingering and the global situation becoming increasingly tense. The new year also saw major disasters and accidents, making it a painful start to the year. We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to those who have been affected by the disasters and accidents.

The environment surrounding us today could be described as one in which instability has become the norm. On the one hand, people are moving about and life is returning to normal, and there are signs that the domestic economy is emerging from years of stagnation.

The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a greater recognition of the importance of digitalization among Japanese companies, which was previously said to be lagging behind, and digitalization has accelerated at a rapid pace. The introduction and replacement of core systems as digital infrastructure has progressed, and there has also been a noticeable movement to actively incorporate new technologies such as IoT and AI into business operations. We realize that our customers' challenges are shifting from "digitalization for efficiency" to "digitalization to increase competitiveness."

In this environment, customers' needs for digitalization are high, and we achieved our profit targets four years ahead of schedule in our six-year management plan, "Management Vision 2026," announced in August 2021. In response to this, we announced a revised version of "Management Vision 2026," which includes new measures such as "contribution to sustainability" and a review of shareholder returns, revising our profit targets upward.

This year, too, we intend to support our customers' creative business activities, keeping in mind our brand statement, which we have been promoting since a year ago, "Standing together into the future," and our purpose, "Increasing the number of creative industries in the world."
