B-EN-G, added CO2 emissions calculation function to mcframe
Providing environmental solutions that support sustainability for the manufacturing industry
Business Engineering Corporation
Business Engineering Corporation (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, President: Masakazu Haneda, hereinafter "B-EN-G") uses its in-house developed production, sales, and cost management package software "mcframe 7" to calculate CO2 emissions on a product-by-product basis. We are pleased to announce that we will begin offering mcframe 7 CFP, a CFP (carbon footprint)* solution with added functionality to calculate carbon footprint, from June 2023. This product can be installed and used as a standalone product.
*CFP (Carbon Footprint) is an abbreviation for Carbon Footprint of Products, which refers to the amount of greenhouse gases emitted throughout the life cycle of products and services, from raw material procurement to disposal and recycling, converted into CO2. It is a system that displays products and services in an easy-to-understand manner. Utilize the LCA (life cycle assessment) method to quantitatively calculate the environmental impact. Businesses and consumers share "awareness" regarding actions to reduce CO2 emissions, and by using the "visualized" information, businesses cooperate with other companies in the supply chain to further reduce CO2 emissions. Promote volume reduction. By using "visualized" information, we aim to help consumers transform their own consumption lifestyles to be more low-carbon. ■Background and aim
As demands for quantitative disclosure of environmental impact information grow stronger, interest in the manufacturing industry is shifting from CO2 emissions at the company/organizational level to more detailed CO2 emissions for each product. CFP is not only used for information disclosure, but also serves as basic data that can lead to the reduction of CO2 emissions, which can become a financial cost, so its preparation is an urgent need.
B-EN-G applies its extensive system implementation experience in the manufacturing industry, especially the knowledge and technology cultivated through mcframe cost management, to calculate highly accurate CFP through detailed accumulation and distribution calculations, and calculates CFP at the production stage. We have developed software that realizes CFP management.
■CFP solution utilization image
mcframe is a packaged software with a wide lineup. Through mutual use with other mcframe family products, we comprehensively solve customers' environmental impact issues not only at the production stage but also from the product planning phase to the management evaluation and analysis phase.

Calculation, analysis, and evaluation of CFP for each product using cost management (achieved in Phases 1 and 2)
- Emission calculation based on raw materials and processes using the cost calculation function of mcframe 7
- Achieves highly accurate CFP calculations through detailed accumulation and distribution calculations from production data.
- It is possible to understand the difference between the standard value and actual value of CFP, calculate preliminary values, simulate, analyze and evaluate.
Evaluate environmental impact from the product planning and design stage (achieved in Phase 3)
- Quantitative simulation of CFP at the product planning and design stage, which largely determines the environmental impact
Actual measurement and utilization of environment-related data (realized in Phase 3)
- Measure and monitor CFP-related data using IoT solutions and use it for improvement activities
- Actual measurement data can also be used to improve the accuracy of inventory data, allocation standards, etc.
Decision making based on the balance between manufacturing costs and environmental impact (future)
- Building a system that can quantitatively evaluate economic efficiency (manufacturing costs) and environmental performance (CFP)
■Product release plan (planned)
- Phase 1: June 2023 Provide mcframe 7-based CFP calculation function
- Phase 2: Provide analysis functions in the second half of 2023
- Phase 3: After 2024 CFP simulation (PLM) at the design stage, actual measurement and monitoring of environmental data (IoT)
From the above, we will gradually provide functions such as evaluating the balance between economic efficiency and environmental friendliness.
