Short-term Implementation Cloud Purchasing Package “SMART Package for SAP Ariba Snap”

Project Background
Saison Technology Co., Ltd. was established in 1970 to integrate the information processing functions of the then Seibu Distribution Group and create a new information service industry, and will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2020.
Saison Technology Inc. provides a variety of data management solutions tailored to customer needs in the DX era, centered on its HULFT file integration middleware, which has the top market share in Japan, and its DataSpider Servista data integration middleware. The company also offers "Linkage Business," a service that connects internal and external business systems, such as various cloud-based business systems, and builds a data integration infrastructure using its own product brand "HULFT.
Saison Technology Co., Ltd. decided to restructure its existing purchasing system as the maintenance deadline for the system was approaching at the end of March 2021, and began implementing a new system in June 2020 to reform business processes, strengthen controls, and expand linkage business.
Reason for Solution Selection
Saison Technology Corporation selected SAP Ariba Snap as the base for its new system because it has sufficient functions to operate procurement and purchasing operations and can be used globally, as well as because of the "innovation-accelerating work style reform" that it has been working on in recent years. The company also benefits from the convenience of cloud services.
The reason why "SMART Package for SAP Ariba Snap" was selected is based on B-EN-G's rich experience and know-how. The main appeal points were various settings, which are normally allowed to be freely decided by the user company, are preset in consideration of ease of use, and the documentation is available to kindly guide the introduction process according to the settings.
In September 2020, the system was implemented in a short period of 12 weeks.
Looking back on the project, Isao Kamijo, Team Manager of the Business Partner Promotion Team, Business Support Department, said of the successful implemetation, "This was a project we had never experienced before, implementing a system through remote work during the coronavirus pandemic, but 'SMART Package for SAP Ariba Snap' has a clear implementation process, so we were able to proceed with the work efficiently. We were able to implement the system in a short period of three months. We feel that this package is suitable for system implementation in the telework era.''
Future Outlook
Saison Technology Inc. divides the post-introduction utilization phase into two phases in accordance with the goals to be achieved.
1)Improvement of operational efficiency and convenience through business process innovation
2)Improved management through visualization of orders
The man-hours involved in ordering in the field department will be reduced by 25%, and 70% of expenses will be realized through remote work such as telework.
By building a long-term, globally available procurement infrastructure with SAP Ariba and DataSpider Servista, we will ultimately be able to visualize all expenditures from the point of order and optimize costs and processes across the company. The aim is to contribute to management by enabling strategic investment of funds and human resources.
